    No no...Malaysia Satellite will be in Kedah *faint* will be busy will final exams too

    IT WILL be a three-way battle for the Sportsman of the Year award at the Kuala Lumpur Sports Awards 2005 to be announced in Kuala Lumpur on Friday.


    The three in contention for the award, which comes with RM5,000, are karate exponent R. Puvaneswaran, athlete Mohamed Sharul Haizy Abdul Rahman and wushu exponent Lim Yew Fai. All three have impressive records.


    For the Sportswoman of the Year, there is close battle between karate exponent Vasantha Marial Anthony and triple jumper Ngew Sin Mei.
    Vasantha, a full-time trainee under the National Sports Council (NSC), won a gold medal in the Asian Championships. The 29-year-old Vasantha, a member of the Kuala Lumpur Hayashi Ha Karate Association, also won a silver in the Women Islamic Games in Iran and a gold medal in the National championships.

    Mohamed Shakiran Ibrahim (table tennis); Hoon Thien How (badminton); Shahir Sulaiman (swimming); R. Puvaneswaran (karate); Mohamed Sharul Haizy Abdul Rahman (athletics); Suhardi Hassan (cycling); Azlisham Zakaria (body building); Muhammad Amin Rashid (hockey); Habizan Othman (silat); Lim Yew Fai (wushu).


    Sportswoman:
    Lydia Cheah (badminton)
    ; Vasantha Marial Anthony (karate); Ngew Sin Mei (athletics); A. Kannagi (hockey); Hanida Zaili Jailani (silat); Teo Woon Yen (basketball).


    Most Promising Sportsman:
    Goh Nai Ngee (table tennis); Kuan Kam Chung (badminton); G. Vageesan (swimming); V. Jayaseelan (karate); S. Narendran (athletics); Kwan Ka Junn (squash); Harnizam Basri (cycling); Ong Jun Khee (basketball).


    Most Promising Sportswoman:
    Esther Ratna Devi (badminton)

    none of the badminton players won..
    for sportsman- is the wushu guy, sportwoman- karate-do, most promising sportsman- swimming, most promosing sportwoman - karate-do

    that wushu guy (can't remember his name) definitely deserved to win it, i think he took gold at the last world championships, or was it silver?

    and for swimming, it must have been daniel bego, amazing performance by him in the world junior championships, collecting a silver and maybe a bronze, smashing a few national records along the way. anyways, what was important was that he won malaysia's first international swimming medals, so a worthy winner.

    I am not going Geor.. One, is because is near to my exam and is held in another state(Kedah) *faint. So cannot go....
    Yeah, hopefully someone will go and share photos with us!!!!!

    Why you dunno Beryno Wong's and Shafiq's previous rankings?? Wah, Wei Feng's ranking shot up like crazy! Cheers satellite must have boosted up his ranking yeye... Haha.. Poor Lim Kenn.. his ranking dropped. But never mind.. Jia you Lim Kenn!! Jia you everyone!! U can do it!! Tan Chun Seang still the best hehehe

    "Two players from Rashid Sidek’s project 2010-2012 squad — Beryno Wong and Tan Chun Seang — have also been given a major break as they will compete in the China Open."
